Chuck was at his desk, leaning against his computer chair comfortably with a glass of scotch in his hand. His laptop was open and there were several tabs open (Gossip Girl and GQapos;s websites being two of them) but his focus right now was on the website of a burlesque club in Alexandria. The place was amazing (well, amazing if you liked half-naked girls) and Chuck could really see a profit being made there if someone with the right assets took over. Chuck thought he was that person. He wrote down a couple of notes on a pad of paper. If he visited the club tomorrow and had a talk with the owners, maybe he could work up a business proposition by the time his father came to town...
The door was open. It might be frightening to see Chuck working so hard at something that didnapos;t involve his pants being off.
[Like the door, the post is open apos;cept when Gossip Girl is on. Then there will be SP. And, yes, Chuck buying a burlesque club at 17 years old is canon]

Blogosphere, virtual world, my own space.....whatever.
the thing is, no matter what, weather you like it or not, you still need to face the world, and the people who live in it. Unfortunately, not everything goes your way, deal with it. Unless you are prepared to live in a dark room, in front of your computer all your life, then its ok for you to slam someone else in your blog (good luck with that). The thing is, this world work in a certain way, and the people around you sets up a very invisible almost non-existing rule that u need to follow. These rule arenapos;t written or spoken....but it is felt and acted, upon what the majority have to say.
to a certain friend of mine...its not that i hate you, but i hate your negativity.
you as a person is perfect the way you view it, as well as me. But as perfect as you are...you still need to deal with other people, that is when the perfect wall surrounding you crumbles. Please understand, we do not hate you, we are hoping that you can tolerate to us. Be more co-operative. Tone down that negativity of yours.
as a biology and more concretely, a txonomy student, you do understand that whenever a species is unable to compete with its surrounding, it has to adapt, and thru time...became a new species. That is , what i personally think that you should do. Adapt to the environment....alter you ego, get rid of it, it wont take you anywhere. I know its hard to change, but little by little, i believe you can. Its not the first time you did this you know. Areapos;napos;t you aware that, if its happens to you a few times, there must be something wrong with you. I guess, you should start by throwing away every single gangster and mob movies in you possessions, get rid of those bad influences. You know that its bad for you.

Hi, everybody Itapos;s me, back again. *Waits for cheers*
Okay, okay. Well, what with a whole bunch of homework, OM lessons, flute lessons and, most recently, self-defense lessons, Iapos;ve been kind of swamped. But here I am (very late at night, but Iapos;m still here.)
I havenapos;t really had much to say, though. I finished up this quarter with a 3.1 GPA, which is pretty good considering that by the third week of this year I was failing English. Iapos;m good there, though.
Other than that, there hasnapos;t been much to mention. Iapos;ve chosen what Iapos;m going to do for NaNo this year - a humor novel called Grandmother Cubed - and now the only thing Iapos;m concerned about is its actual *plot*. I hope itapos;ll come *before* November, since Iapos;m not getting extra credit in English for doing this. I just hope it turns out well enough to earn that and doesnapos;t just flop and die.
I started self-defense lessons last Wednesday at a place called the United Studios of Self-defense. My ... Teachers? Senseis? (They didnapos;t really tell us what to call them) are really cool, and I like them. So Iapos;ve got a group class on Tuesdays, and thatapos;s also when Iapos;ll have my one-on-one lessons. Then thereapos;s another group session on Thursdays and on Saturdays. It looks to be a lot of fun, though itapos;ll kind of cram my schedule. Oh well. Iapos;ll probably never get an oppertunity like this again, so Iapos;m pretty happy. They said theyapos;d train my mom free for thirty days, and I was excited about that too, since we wouldnapos;t have the money to do that otherwise. Like I said, theyapos;re really nice.
NLS finally put the fourth Maximum Ride book up on their downloadable audio books website, and I was thrilled. So now I have a new book to read as well, which is awesome. We also got Friday off this week, which added to the excitement (although I do have biology homework, but what the heck?)
I donapos;t really think thereapos;s anything else to say. My life is very, very ordinary at this point. Just figured Iapos;d update my very small crowd of readers and whatnot before I go to bed (finally) and forget again.
Oh I did write a request letter to the CAER board (and I canapos;t recall what that stands for right now, silly me). I requested some money for the Spain, France and Italy tour we plan to take next summer, and any money would be helpful at this point. So Iapos;m really hopeful and stuff, and excited for the response. And stuff. If we get to go, Iapos;ll probably have a whole new slew of things to write about, and I can already hardly wait. Going out there would be extremely, incredibly cool.
So, before I decide to stay up another hour and do nothing whatsoever, Iapos;ll sign off.
TTYAS, good luck with life,
Alison

britney spears press conference
Okay so I just got my absentee ballot today. I was woundering if it mattered if you used a pen or pencil. A friend of mine said that her absentee ballot said to use a black or blue pen. Well I ended up filling mine out with a black pen. When Iwas finised with it I went over everything Ithis time Iread "use only the marketing device provided or a number 2 pencil." Will this void my vote since I use a black pen? I really hope not. I know it was my fault that Idid not see that first. Please...some feed back would be great. Thank you so much.

This week weapos;ve begun to see a bit of Autumn color around Oxford.There is a maple tree along University Avenue between the Square and campus that usually puts on an early bright display, compared to the rest of Oxfordapos;s tree life.This year is no exception- the tree is now nearly completely orange, just in time for the neaby Episcopal churchapos;s annual pumpkin sale. There are also a couple of increasingly magenta maples along South Lamar on my drive north toward town. Here on Whippoorwill the trees are still mostly green, but even here there is a sense of the seasonapos;s changing.Today that sense came in the form of rain and cooler temperatures. At work the ac was at a slightly less freezing level than earlier in the week, and we got to hear the cozy sound of rain splattering into the trashcans on the stairway most of the day.At least itapos;s no longer rain splattering into the trashcans right outside our offices
I just finished reading Louise Erdrichapos;s novel, "The Master Butherapos;s SingingClub" and itapos;s left me feeling sad. LP mentioned to me the other night that it contained a number of sad story lines, but, in fact, all of them are pretty sad. Fortunately, it hasnapos;t creeped me out the way another novel I read a couple of weekapos;s ago did. That one was "Praying to a Laughing God" (canapos;t remember the authorapos;s name at the moment) and concerned the late-life memories and travails of a retired hardware store owner/historical society volunteer who, it was eventually revealed, had brutally murdered a neighbor years before when he discovered the neighbor was having an affair with his wife. In the end of the novel he seems to be on the brink of finding new love with a bright, sophisticated widow, and this is seemingly supposed to feel like some sort of redemption, but I was left with the feeling that I didnapos;t want him to have a happy ending and I didnapos;t buy that the two of them could have any kind of happy life together with that kind of secret in his past anyway. So,for anyone whoapos;s keeping score, that oneis on my"not recommended" list.

all 4 one i swear video
In response to the writerapos;s block thing about "Would you rather be trapped in an elevator with Eeyore or Tigger?" - totally Eeyore. Heapos;s gloomy, yeah, but I can deal with gloomy. Spending any amount of time in a small, enclosed space with Tiggerapos;s excessive energy would give me a headache (as in, I wouldnapos;t even want to ride in an elevator with Tigger. Heapos;s be literally bouncing off the walls onto me before we even got to the third floor. Spending an indefinite period of time in said small enclosed space with him would severely test the limits of my sanity. I would much rather walk barefoot on broken glass than be stuck in an elevator with Tigger.
Donapos;t get me wrong; I like Tigger. But I think that being trapped in an elevator with him would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Feeling very pensive and introverted this cloudy Thursday morning, so Iapos;ll post the nearest-to-you-book meme:
* Grab the nearest book.
* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
* Donapos;t dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST
"In his apos;Letter on the Secret Works of Art and the Nullity of Magicapos;, he wrote, apos;The man is insane who writes a secret in any other way than one which will conceal it from the vulgar and make it intelligible only with difficulty even to scientific men and earnest students.apos;"
From Moran and Sceurmanapos;s "Weird U.S.: Your Travel Guide to Americaapos;s Local Legends and Best Kept Secrets" which I swear was the closest book to my reach from this computer chair.
